What is a
Coach? A Coach establishes and maintains an ongoing partnership with the client to set
and achieve goals by letting go of self-limiting beliefs, issues of self-worth and
subsequent self-sabotage that interfere or block forward momentum toward personal growth.
A Coach listens, observes and tailors their approach to the individual needs of the client. They draw out, from the client,
the solutions and strategies to deal with the issues at hand. The role of the Coach is supportive and nurturing which allows
the client to enhance the skills, resources and creativity they already possess for problem solving.
What
is an WellBeing Coach? An WellBeing Coach employs several tools for helping the client get from where they are to where
they want to be. The client learns how to neutralize past issues that are standing in the way of their life's
journey. In doing so, the need for the client to retread the old roads of the past is eliminated and the
focus shifts to mapping their future path.
Should I have a WellBeing Coach? If you have everything that your heart desires, you are doing exactly what you want to do and you are happy
and contented being you, then, the answer is no. You do not need a Coach. In fact, you should be a coach.
However, if you feel a sense of lack in what you have, what you do or what you want to be, then yes, you could use a
little coaching.
What
about kids? As a pediatric nurse for more than 30 years, I must say
that we must not forget that coaching has extremely positive benefits for kids and teens for many of the same issues as
adults. Better we should get them early. What, specifically, can a WellBeing Coach do for me? Specifically, an WellBeing Coach can help you in any of the areas where you are dissatisfied.
The goal is to go through life in a state of WellBeing; that is to be well in mind, body and spirit. How you get there
and stay there is different for each of us.
How many sessions do I need? The long
answer is that it would depend on the intensity of the issue as well as the number of issues you bring to the table.
I cannot give you an exact number of sessions, however, keep in mind that Rome was not built in a day. It happens, on
occasion, that some relatively minor issues get resolved in one session. It is more likely that you will experience
some major insights in your first session that lead to those wonderful "Ah-ha" moments in subsequent sessions.
It is good to keep in mind that as a coach, I provide the support and guidance and you provide the
commitment and willingness to "do the work". Oh, and by the way, there will be homework.
The
short answer is that I offer sessions in sets of three, six or nine with three one hour weekly sessions each month. The
first session is usually about an hour and a half. We will discuss which program will serve you best in a 20 minute
phone consultation at no charge to you.
Do
you see clients only in your office? I see clients in my office
for private coaching sessions as well as telephone coaching sessions. You can be anywhere in the world as long as you
have a telephone.
